Ingredients

Peaches

  • 5-6 cups fresh ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Cobbler Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup boiling water

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss peaches with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; let sit 15 minutes.
  • Spread peach mixture in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; cut in butter until crumbly.
  • Pour boiling water into the crumb mixture and stir until combined. Drop spoonfuls over peaches.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until topping is golden and filling bubbles. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for extra delight.
