  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or a 50/50 mix of all-purpose and whole wheat)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (Greek or regular) or milk/water as a substitute

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder, dried herbs, butter for brushing, or ghee (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and optional herbs in a bowl.
  • Stir in yogurt and olive oil; add water or milk if needed to form a soft dough.
  • Knead briefly until smooth, then rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide dough into 6–8 balls, roll into rounds about 6–7 inches in diameter.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, brush with oil, cook each flatbread 1–2 minutes per side until golden.
  • Stack and brush with butter or ghee; serve warm.

Notes

Keep the dough slightly sticky for easier rolling, and cook on medium heat to prevent burning.
