A quick and flavorful seafood pasta dish with lemon, garlic, and butter that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 12 oz pasta (linguine, spaghetti, or angel hair)

Shrimp

  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled)

Butter

  • 4 tbsp butter (unsalted)

Garlic

  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

Lemon

  • 1 whole lemon (zested + juiced)

Red Pepper Flakes

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Pasta Water

  • 1/4 cup pasta water

Salt + Black Pepper

  • to taste salt and black pepper

Garnish

  • fresh parsley or parmesan (optional)

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta in salted water until al dente; save 1/4 cup of water.
  • Melt butter and sauté garlic in a skillet; add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side.
  • Stir in lemon juice, zest, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  • Add drained pasta and reserved water; toss until coated and glossy.
  • Garnish with parsley, parmesan, or lemon zest before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
