  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil (Melted coconut oil is a great substitute.)
  • 1 tablespoon Espresso Powder (Omit for milder chocolate.)
  • 1 cup Fresh Brewed Coffee (Warm water can replace it.)
  • 3 large Eggs (For a vegan option, use 1/4 cup of applesauce per egg.)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Filling & Frosting

  • 1 cup Butter (Softened.)
  • 4 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tablespoons Milk (Non-dairy options can be used.)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately, then combine.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes.
  • Allow cake to cool, then prepare frosting by beating butter, powdered sugar, cocoa, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
