A delightful dessert featuring layers of moist cake, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream served in individual cups.

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk

Strawberries

  • 2 lbs fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, very cold
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Mix butter and sugar until fluffy, add eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and alternate adding with buttermilk. Bake for 18-22 minutes.
  • Cool cake, then cut out circles. Mix strawberries with sugar and let sit.
  • Whip cold cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Assemble cups with cake, strawberries, and whipped cream.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for best flavor and texture.
