Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg; stir in cranberries.
Core apples, leaving ½ inch at the bottom; stuff with sugar mixture, top with butter, and sprinkle walnuts if using.
Pour hot water into dish; bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour until tender.
Notes
Use firm apples like Jonagold or Braeburn for best results.
