Dessert Tacos with mixed berries and cheesecake

Delight in crispy fried taco shells filled with creamy cheesecake filling and topped with fresh berries for a sweet, crunchy treat.

Ingredients

Dough and Filling

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip, thawed
  • 2 cups fresh berries (rinsed and dried)

Tortillas and Frying

  • 18 street taco size flour tortillas tortillas (or cut to 4" rounds)
  • 4 cups vegetable oil or shortening (for frying)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions 

  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth; fold in Cool Whip.
  • Fry folded tortillas in hot oil for 1-2 minutes until golden; coat with cinnamon sugar and cool.
  • Pipe cheesecake filling into cooled shells, top with berries, and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve immediately for best crispness; leftovers can be refrigerated for 2-3 days, but shells may soften.
