A rich and comforting skillet dish featuring tender beef, sautéed mushrooms, and a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1.5 lbs beef chuck or sirloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Sauté mushrooms in butter until browned, then add onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and thyme.
  • Add flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in beef broth, simmer until thickened.
  • Stir in heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce, return beef to skillet, simmer until tender and sauce thickens.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, simmer a bit longer. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
