  • 4 medium Apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) (washed, peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (unsalted)
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • a pinch Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice (to prevent browning)

Instructions 

  • Wash, peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add apple slices and sauté for 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt over apples; stir to combine and cook for 5-10 minutes until tender and glazed.
  • Remove from heat, then stir in vanilla extract and lemon juice.
