A moist and buttery cake perfect for any occasion, combining simple ingredients with straightforward steps for delicious results.

unflavoured vegetable oil

buttermilk

Instructions
Preheat oven to 150°C (302°F) with fan on, grease and line an 8-inch square cake tin.
Sift flour and baking powder together; set aside. Mix buttermilk and vanilla; set aside.
Cream butter, sugar, and oil until light and creamy, about 5 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in dry ingredients and buttermilk mixture alternately until just combined.
Pour batter into prepared tin and bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before serving.
Notes
Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
