Enjoy warm, tender baked apples infused with cinnamon and vanilla for a comforting dessert.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 6 to 7 pieces apples (preferably tart varieties)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon corn starch

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Core and slice apples.
  • Toss apples with lemon juice. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and salt.
  • Melt butter, stir in vanilla, and pour over apples. Sprinkle dry mix and stir to coat.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10 more minutes.
  • Test with a fork; apples should be tender. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of nutmeg or serve with vanilla ice cream.
