Ingredients

Vegetables and Aromatics

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup onion (diced into 1/4-inch pieces)
  • 1 lb ground turkey (Butterball 93% lean)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 1.5 tbsp chili powder
  • 1.25 tsp cumin
  • 0.75 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 cup tomato sauce (Hunt's)
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth

Toppings and Wraps

  • as needed lettuce (whole Bibb or Butter lettuce leaves)
  • to taste mexican cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (seeded, 1/2-inch pieces)
  • a handful cilantro
  • to taste sour cream

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add ground turkey and minced garlic; cook until turkey is browned, about 5-6 minutes. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, tomato sauce, and chicken broth. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve the turkey mixture in lettuce leaves, topped with diced tomatoes, cheese, red onion, avocado, cilantro, and sour cream.
